Hey Girl: Your Body Is Changing (and That’s Totally Normal)

Let’s get real for a minute.

One day you wake up feeling great—strong, confident, excited to wear your favorite outfit. The next day? You’re moody, tired, and your jeans don’t fit quite right. What gives?

It’s called growing up, and your body is doing some amazing (and yes, sometimes weird) things.

This time in your life—between being a kid and becoming a teenager—is full of big changes. And while it can feel confusing or awkward, guess what? You’re not alone.

Your Body Is Getting Stronger

Right now, your body is learning and growing like never before. Your bones are getting stronger. Your muscles are developing. Your brain is changing, too.

You might notice:

  • You’re hungrier than usual

  • You feel tired or emotional sometimes

  • Your body is changing shape

  • Your period starts (or will start soon)

All of that is normal. Your body isn’t doing anything wrong—it’s doing what it’s meant to do.

Move Your Body, Feel Your Power

One of the best ways to take care of your body during this time is to move it.

You don’t have to be the fastest or strongest. You don’t have to play sports or go to the gym.

Dancing in your room counts. Walking with a friend counts. Stretching in your pajamas? That counts too.

When you move your body:

  • You feel more confident

  • You sleep better

  • You handle stress better

  • You start to feel more like you again

Food Is Fuel (Not the Enemy)

Some days you’ll want snacks all the time. Other days you might not feel as hungry. That’s your body sending signals—and it’s smart.

Try to give your body:

  • Protein (like eggs, yogurt, chicken, or beans) to help you grow

  • Fruits and veggies for vitamins and energy

  • Water—your body needs it more than you think

  • Treats too—because balance matters, and food is meant to be enjoyed

You don’t need to diet. You don’t need to compare.
You just need to listen to your body and treat it with kindness.

You Are More Than Your Body

Your body is amazing—but it’s not the only thing that makes you powerful.

You’re funny. You’re creative. You’re smart.
You’re a good friend, a dreamer, a leader in the making.

At Behanem, we believe in building strength from the inside out.
So when you feel overwhelmed by changes or unsure of yourself, just remember:
You are growing into someone incredible. One day, one step, one breath at a time.

You've got this. And we’ve got your back. 💪
